applying

you should observe your standard rules and general common sense when applying, however for anyone that needs their hand held we have hitchcock's sweaty palm ready to walk you through it!

under known name you'd put the name your celebrity is most known by (i.e. halsey) with the aka as their lesser known counterpart (in this case ashley frangipane)
usernames should be some indication of your celebrity's stage name or real name, we're okay with nicknames as long as you don't go too crazy with it. no underscores or random letters.

ex. if you apply as jay-z you can use the username jayz, shawncarter or some variation of each name.
yes, even if you're applying as someone who has a stage name as silly as dwayne johnson does you can use therock as your username
you can use nicknames as long as you provide some evidence they're real

wire is absolutely optional, feel free to only roleplay within your journals and customs if that's what suits you. if there is concern about wire in the future we could take a community wide vote on an app, however for the time being wire is where it's at.

EXAMPLES: you only have to provide one example upon application and we'd like it to be a sample of an update you'd plan on posting in your journal if you were to be accepted. that's right, no writing examples at this time, we trust that if you want to join you already know how to write. your update example can be a celeb, pb, fandom, or any genre of rp since updates here aren't exactly the norm, but please make sure to filter it in your journal and add us to see it.

UPDATES: at this community you're allowed to post almost anything you want, within reason, that shows some kind of effort in your role as your in journal update. comments can be disabled, especially since we encourage you to post narratives, faux articles, instagram sheets, social media posts, found bag posts, or anything else like that. whether you've made it in photoshop or through html, as long as it looks like you've put in some effort it is likely to be accepted as an update.

for your entries you must put in the subject line of your post, or the title line of your style, whether it is public (which could have been leaked) or private since updates here are a little different and we don't want anyone confused about what they can or can't know ic. the only exception is entries with comments enabled, which are public by default.
cheddar has a directory for all your html needs! if you have any questions about whether or not an update counts just ask us, and if you need any help bring cheddar treats and take your chances with him.

ACTIVITY: it's up to you guys to be responsible for your own activity regarding wire, the friends page and welcoming new members by commenting their journals when they apply, so we hope you make everyone feel welcome! as far as posting activity, each month you'll be required to post two times, once within the first two weeks of the month and once within the last two weeks. we won't be posting when everyone is due with adds since we'll all be more or less on the same schedule, so it would be nice if everyone didn't all post on the same day! remember that there is no maximum amount of activity, feel free to post as many updates as you'd like so long as you meet the minimum requirements below:

post once in the main comm (amusement) with comments enabled, whether it's lyrics or just a talking point to get to know the group + reply to the majority of the comments. your introduction post transitioning you into the community in your first set of adds will count as this activity for your first month!
post once in your journal where you can do almost whatever you'd like. we say almost because we'd like you to try and not just post a single youtube or a one liner and pass that off as an update. please. don't make us beg.

it doesn't matter to us which type of update you choose to post first but please try to be conscientious and not post both of your updates within a week of one another. we're kind but we're not blind.

before the end of each fortnight you'll comment the post in management with a link to your post for that half of the month and we'll mark you as completed for your activity.

miscellaneous

this should go without saying but because some of you need to hear it, be kind to one another. don't mock other members, don't harass anyone, don't drag ic to ooc and the other way around. just be chill. if you are having a problem with anyone please reach out to us and we'll do our best to help.

we will never do community awards, points systems, or update passes.
this is just a game and we're here to have a good time but please remember to do your best to be accurate. it takes 9 months to gestate a human child, if your celebrity is in rehab you have to take a hiatus, etc.
if you have permission with another member here to do something such as say a former relationship was strictly pr, go forth and be merry! that's none of our business! just don't do anything like that without asking (if the other party is present).
if you're a member your friends list must stay at least two weeks current or you can and will be removed.
cheddar hosts activities such as ffas, interrogation posts (or questions posts, if you will) and so forth. if you have requests, recommendations or you want to volunteer to do something just let him know!
gina linetti runs a secrets hotline, say something to someone through song, text, or your own image secret. you can even be an anonymous coward about it if you want to! (NOTE: how do you sleep at night? chicken.) confess your darkest fears! drunk dial us! we don't care! you can also just spread rumors, like when hitchcock told everyone it was cheddar that ate the lasagna. just keep it fun.
